The brief
Aurum release once a year in small numbers. The bottle is photographed more often than it is poured, so it had to hold up under a single hard light with no set.
Base — the spirit lit from below.
Neck — matte, so nothing competes.
‘We have not commissioned a set since.’

The making
Untreated glass at the base, matte black from the shoulder up. Backlit, the spirit becomes the light source and the bottle disappears around it.
